Hi. Tell us something about Alfatec project.
Hi everybody! Here’s Alfatec, hardcore punk with rock tunes from Florence (Italy), since 2005. Our project is based on friendship first, in 10 years we have never changed the lineup, we play for fun, for ourselves. We just love releasing records and tour around the world. That’s it, nothing more nothing less.

Tell us something about your last musical production.
Our last production is Otium, released in 2014. We worked hard for this and we are very proud of it.
We recorded it in Parma with Carlo Izzo at Big Pine Creek Studio… what he did is great, the album sounds fucking great!

Which artists have influenced your style & sound, if any?
We grew with 90’s hardcore melodic stuff but we weren’t inspire by any particular bands when we started with Alfatec. During these years we found our style, but we don’t wanna be just a copy of a more famous band, we just want to be Alfatec, it’s enough :)

How is being a band from Florence – Italy? What’s the best live act in your area? Tell us something about it.
We love our city, but it’s not easy to play this kind of music in Florence. Gigs often are very cool but there isn’t a big scene, there are not so many local punk bands and no big bands come to play here, so it’s very hard to keep engaged kids and getting new people in general.
Best places to play here are definitely squats, nEXt Emerson and CPA are for sure good venues where you can have or see a show. One of our best gigs was for sure Otium release party at Circus Club, the best metal venue in our town!

On Livetrigger.com you define your genre: “Punk, rock and hardcore”. What does it mean to be a punk band today?
Hard question…..for us to be a punk band in 2015 means choosing a different way to approach the world around us, it’s a mental attitude. It doesn’t strictly relate to music stuff, it’s just a different point of view in this crazy and sick society.

I know you made lot of tours in Italy and in Europe in the past. Do you prefer to play in Italy or outside your country? Are you connected with other bands or musical movements in Italy or in Europe? Tell us something about it.
Touring around the globe is of course fucking cool, we live for this, but also playing in Italy is great. We have more people showing up in our country but it’s also cool to go to other countries and try to reach more fans as possible. We travel a lot in Europe and two years ago we had a tour in Java Island, Indonesia, probably the best experience of our lives. Yeah, we have a lot of friends around the world, but there isn’t a real musical movement connection, it would be great but we don’t see anything like that around us at this moment.

What’s the best live music show you’ve seen recently?
The Bronx with Gallows in Milan few years ago was quite a great show :)

Tell us something about your best and your worst memory on the road. Did you plan to have a tour in the next future? Tell us something about it.
We had too many good moments to choose just one, but the worst experiences for sure were while passing the several borders they have in Eastern Europe… in these countries police is fucking annoying and more stupid then in the rest of the countries we visited, hours and hours of wasted time….or when in the Netherlands our drummer was kept illegally by local police for hours… super bad!
Of course we are planning some tours in the future, we will play some shows in Germany in July and we are planning a tour for the autumn. We would like also to go again out of Europe, but nothing sure yet, we’ll see.

What do you think of Livetrigger.com? Do you think it could be a good tool to facilitate the process of booking and organizing shows? Do you have any suggestions?
We think it’s a great idea, it’s just a very young creature right now but it can be a revolutionary tool for diy management. We think that diy is the future (and the present) of the musical movement, not just an underground movement. Yes, it would a great tool to facilitate how to manage a band, the only suggest we have is to use it! Use it! Use it!

Hey, wait a second!
