WRITTEN BY

Hi. Tell us something about RawDog project.
Hello everybody. Rawdog was born in spring 2012 from the meeting of Audrey (drums) and Mike (guitar and song) during a little tour with other plans. Mike had some compositions ready, Audrey understood quite quickly the spirit (grunge – garage). So it all went very fast : a first ‘demo’ in November 2012 , and an album “Blurred”, published a year ago. WE are going to play in Paris December the 18th at Le Pub ADK.

Tell us something about your last musical production.
For this album, we’ve recorded “live” (except voices) 16 songs, in a short-lived studio settled in the wing of a château near Paris. We’ve kept 9 of these songs. It’s a very eclectic album… a mixing of what we had inside us at the moment. It’s somewhat the colour of our meeting: musical “coup de foudre”, quick plain execution, a medley of our personal compositions.

On your Livetrigger profile page you define yourself as a grunge/garage band! Tell us something about it?
“Grunge” because we grew up with the stage of Seattle and it obviously inspired us. “Garage” because we like realizing quickly without producing a posteriori (often there’s only a guitar, no bass and so on).

Which artists have influenced your style and sound, if any? Any favourite artists?
Mike: The Beatles , Berruriers Noirs , Trust, Rage against the machine, Red Hot Chilly Peppers, ( and John Frusciente  albums), Elliott Smith, Nirvana…
Audrey: Nirvana , Queen Adreena, Shannon Wright, Led Zeppelin, Qotsa, The Beatles, Bjork…

How is being a band from Saint Ouen (FR)? Tell us something about France musical movement.
Saint Ouen is a popular town just to the North of Paris, well-known for its flea market (antiques , second hand goods). We rent a rehearsal studio there, in a “friche culturelle” called “Mains d’oeuvre”. We spend most of our spare time there. We record there too. As for the French stage, there’s an interesting movement in the alternative rock, with a lot of very active associative labels. We’re always pleased to see the quality of many rock bands we meet, which command respect and humility. Unfortunately, this circuit is limited, because of the lack of necessary go-betweens in great media. Fortunately the internet compensate for this lack of vision in great radios.

Did you make any tours in Europe in the past? Do you prefer to play in France or outside your country? Are you connected with other bands or musical movements in Italy or in Europe? Tell us something about it.
We’ve played in Belgium this year and we hope we’ll go back there in 2016. Overall we like playing everywhere we go and where we are welcome. For the moment we have no connection in Italy…

What’s the best live act in your area? Tell us something about it.
There are several of them but let’s say “La Girafe ronde” (Marvejols, in the center of France) this winter.

What’s the best live music show you’ve seen recently?
Mike: METZ in Paris .
Audrey: Shannon Wright in Chelles (Paris area)

What do you think of Livetrigger.com? Do you think it could be a good tool to facilitate the process of booking and organizing shows? Do you have any suggestions?
All exchange platforms giving a little visibility are good for independent bands and may facilitate the booking and particularly Livetrigger. Anyway, all the bands can contact us, to exchange, suggest projects, or else . We’ll always be pleased to help if we can.
